Advent 3

“Lament Now!”

In Advent, our worship as Christians is deeply infused with yearning for the presence and power of God to be known yet again. In this season, we look with expectation for God to come among us again, just as God did in coming to us as the Christ child. In our focus scripture this week, the words of the prophet remind us that we do not suffer alone. We have God’s spirit and anointing. Yet God’s anointing is not simply for us. But rather it is a gift for all humanity and should be treated with reverence. Can you imagine that God uses broken people like us to impact change in the world? Especially when we are faced with our own challenges and dilemmas, God chooses to use us.
