It’s Apple Pie Time!!!

Fall is almost here, and with it comes apple pie season! Last year was a great success — we made 519 pies and raised a profit of $6,813. As always, it was a time full of laughter, teamwork, and fellowship, and we can’t wait to peel, roll, and fill shells with you again this year.

This year, Lori Presunka and Laurel Zulke will be coordinating again, but since both will be away at overlapping times in September and October, Lorrie Brown and Fay Torgeson have kindly stepped up to get things rolling. They’ll need plenty of helping hands — and everyone is welcome! Young or old, experienced or brand new, there’s a job for you.

If you’re traveling to the Okanagan (mid-Sept to Oct), we’d love a box or two of apples! Or, if you know of sources for free or low-cost apples, please pass the word along. (Just no Macs or Red Delicious, please.)

We’ll also need donations of flour, sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, and baking powder. And if you’re unable to give time or ingredients, cash donations are always welcome to help cover what we can’t gather through gifts.

Pie-Making Days: Mondays & Wednesdays, 9:00 am – 12:00 noon.
