Join us for a gourmet dinner and celebratory evening of story-sharing and fellowship-building at the Cloverdale United Church Anniversaries Gala Dinner on Saturday, September 13, 2025, starting at 5:30 pm in our newly-refreshed Heritage Hall!
In 2025, our congregation is celebrating multiple milestone anniversaries:
75 years in our current church building and site on 58A Avenue;
100 years of The United Church of Canada, formed on June 10, 1925, as the union of Canada's Presbyterian, Methodist, and Congregationalist denominations;
100 years as Cloverdale United Church, the coming together of Cloverdale Presbyterian Church and Cloverdale Methodist Church at the time of the national church union; and
150 years of our total mission, ministry, and witness in Cloverdale and central and southern Surrey, inclusive of the pre-church-union lives of Cloverdale Presbyterian Church and Cloverdale Methodist Church, each of which traced roots to activity starting in 1875.
Our catered dinner comes with 3 options for the main course:
Rib Eye Steak, with au jus and horseradish (gluten free)
Brie, prosciutto, and asparagus stuffed Chicken Breast (gluten free)
Roasted vegetarian Frittata (may contain gluten)
Each will be served with Yukon gold mashed potatoes and roasted vegetable sides.
As we conclude our celebrations and observances, we're eager for this opportunity to share in community and connection together, celebrating all that has been and looking with hope and joy at what is yet to come, as we prepare to begin authoring another 150 years of new history!
Whether you're a current part of the Cloverdale United Church community of faith, someone who has been a part of our congregation's family in the past, or a friend of our mission and witness from around the wider community, we hope you can come and celebrate with us!

Please also know that through the generosity of a few anonymous donors, we have a select number of complementary tickets available at no cost for members of our CUC community who would not otherwise be able to afford to attend... we don't want anyone left out! Simply contact Rev. Matt to receive the access code to unlock the complementary tickets (and, as always, he will keep your reach out completely confidential).
Do you have friends or family, near or far, who’ve been part of the CUC community? Pass the link along and invite them, too! It’d be lovely to see a real “reunion” across time and space!
