Associate Pastor, Youngsun, preaching Matthew 22:15-22 and Exodus 33:12-23

This Sunday we continue our journey through Exodus and arrive at a remarkable conversation between God and Moses. In the aftermath of Israel’s unfaithfulness with the golden calf, Moses speaks boldly, not asking for success or safety, but for God’s presence. More than anything else, Moses longs to know that God will go with the people on their journey.

God’s response reveals the heart of their relationship: it is not simply about commandments, miracles, or even the promised land. What sets God’s people apart is the presence of God among them. But Moses dares to ask for more: “Show me your glory.”

As we hear Exodus 33:12-23, we are invited to consider what we seek most deeply from God, and to discover anew the God whose presence is our greatest gift.
