26th Sunday in Ordinary Time

“Formed by His Presence”

A Service of the Word for the 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time
September 27, 2026: IN-PERSON and ONLINE at 10:30 a.m.
Associate Pastor, Youngsun, preaching Matthew 21:23-32 and Exodus17:1-7

This Sunday we continue our journey through Exodus and find the Israelites once again in the wilderness. Though God has delivered them from slavery and provided food for their journey, the people now face another challenge: there is no water. Fear and frustration quickly give way to complaint, and they begin to question whether God is truly with them. At the heart of the story lies a deeper question, one that echoes through every generation: “Is the Lord among us or not?”

But even in their doubt, God remains present. Water flows from the rock, not because the people have been faithful, but because God has been faithful. As we hear Exodus 17:1-7. we are invited to consider how God forms a people not only through miracles and victories, but through a steady presence that meets them in their deepest needs.
