This Sunday we continue our journey through Exodus and find the Israelites in the wilderness, newly freed from slavery yet uncertain about what lies ahead. Hunger quickly gives way to complaint, and the people begin to question whether God can be trusted in this unfamiliar place. But God responds not with punishment, but with provision. Manna in the morning and quail in the evening become signs of a God who meets people in their need.
This story reminds us that faith is often lived between memory and promise, between what has been left behind and what has not yet arrived. As we hear Exodus 16:2–15, we are invited to consider how God provides daily bread, daily grace, and daily reminders that we are not alone on the journey.
