“So Simple, So True”
A Service of the Word for the 6th Sunday of Easter
May 10, 2026: IN-PERSON and ONLINE at 10:30 a.m.
The Rev. Matthew Emery, lead minister, preaching
John 14:15-21
Perhaps the greatest human fear is separation. Jesus, even, felt such abandonment on the cross, at least as both Matthew’s and Mark’s accounts tell us. Jesus does not abandon his followers, though. Through the Holy Spirit, Jesus comes to abide with his disciples of every generation. As Pentecost draws near, we are reminded that the risen Christ dwells in us as the Spirit of truth. The world continues to know the presence of Christ in and through us – the church, the community of Christ’s followers – by the way we love one another.
