“Behold the Star! A Christmas Journey to the Light of Christ”
A Service of the Word for the 3rd Sunday of Advent: Cantata Sunday
December 14, 2025: IN-PERSON and ONLINE at 10:30 a.m.
One of the ways we prepare ourselves for Christ’s coming again among us—the focus of the Season of Advent—is through our remembering the stories surrounding how Christ came among us the first time, the stories we tell and celebrate at Christmas. On this third Sunday of Advent, a day traditionally associated with “joy”, we’ll remember the joys of those stories through the music and narrations of this year’s Christmas Cantata, presented by the combined choirs of our congregation and the congregation of the United Churches of Langley (UCoL). With choral direction by UCoL’s Sharon Lauze, accompaniment by our own Tim Bailey, and singers from both congregations, our worship will be alive with the joy of the Christmas story, even as we continue to await Christ coming again into our midst.
