“Unbroken: God becomes human for us in Jesus Christ”
Worship for March 16, 2025: the Second Sunday in Lent
IN-PERSON and ONLINE at 10:30 a.m.
The Rev. Matthew Emery, lead minister, preaching
Genesis 15:1-12, 17-18 and Luke 13:31-35
Though we sometimes doubt and often resist God's desire to protect and save us, God persists. All of God's people have been called and gathered into a God-initiated relationship that will endure. The God who creates all that is takes on life and death in the person of Jesus, in whom God becomes flesh and understands our loves and limits, bridging the gap between God and creation through God’s radical act of love for creation in Christ’s living, dying, and living again.
In this week's reading from the gospel of Luke, we hear from Jesus' mouth his heart's ache over our human rebelliousness, but also his heart's determination to gather us and save us.
