Epiphany Sunday

Our Christmas season reaches its culmination and conclusion this Sunday as we celebrate Epiphany, remembering the arrival of the magi to visit the Christ child and celebrating the way in which God's presence in Christ has been and continues to be made manifest in the world.  Just as the magi of old brought their gifts, so too we bring our own gifts to offer back to God and to indicate something of God's presence in our lives, and our worship service this Sunday will celebrate those gifts.  We'll receive and dedicate our pledges of financial support for the coming year, but we'll also take time to identify and celebrate the other gifts that each of us brings into the work of this community of faith and the manifestation of God's presence in the world:  gifts of experiences we've had, things we're passionate about, skills with which we've been gifted, and more.
