18th Sunday in Ordinary Time

As we continue in the gospel of Matthew this Sunday, we find Jesus trying to get away for a moment of solitude and instead being followed by a massive crowd seeking his healing and teaching. By the end of the day, the needs of the hungry crowd become apparent to the disciples, and by way of the five loaves of bread and two fish those disciples have, we witness the abundant feeding of more than 5,000! So abundant, in fact, that they have some twelve baskets left over. Great wonders come in many forms, but at the end of the day, the things that demonstrate the love and work of God leave us fed and nourished, no matter just exactly how they happen. While Rev. Matt is away this weekend at the close of a week of vacation leave, our own Dan Ariss and Sharlene Jonasson will be leading us in worship, with Dan offering the sermon.
