Romans 7:15-25a
13th Sunday in Ordinary Time

This week, we come to the first of a two Sunday dip into the midst of the apostle Paul'ls letter to the Romans. We'll pick up as he reaches the climax of his exploration of the theology of God's grace. In this week's passage, though, he reminds his readers of the pervasiveness of human brokenness, reflecting on his own life and observing that even when he knows the good he wants to do, it is so often the exact opposite that he ends up doing. Recognizing and being honest about such truth, though, opens us more deeply and more profoundly to the even more amazing truth of God's grace made visible in Christ.
